This is one thing I love.
Al fresco training.

Newsflash;
Report from the Environmental and Technology Journal;
Exercising outdoors has a more positive effect on people.
Can’t argue with that! Matt Wilson 2010

Usually boot camp outdoor sessions don’t use loads of equipment. BUT WE DO!
Boot camps are for raw recruits with fresh crew cuts and the grey goose heads.
Hell Week is what happens at the end of training for elite military units.
Hell Week is characterized by the intense nature of the training the lack of sleep and limited time.
During my hell week 250 of us were put to testing defensive readiness of 15,000 reservists.
Poor Bastards.
Our hell hour is my answer for civilians interested in being the person they were Bourne to be.
No one except first timers shoot cold in the military, and this is to familiarize yourself with a new weapon.
Shooting cold, walk to range lie down chat kill your enemy is not how war works(War is an acronym for We Are Ready R. Marchinko).
You shoot in the military after stress, runs assault courses landings Parachuting marching etc.
We do the same at Hell hour stress your body and teach defensive tactics.
This enables you to;
A/ Co-ordinate under stress
B/ Tolerate the effects of the sympathetic nervous systems activation during stress.
Besides this,
You will be able to run flat out for a quarter mile. Be able to press ups if you have never done one, and start ballistic push ups when ready. there is also a defensive component to our Hell hour.
This is our outdoor group training. It is too empower people so you are not put into groups that will not demoralize you.
Hell hour uses a multi directional approach to training to make the body stronger, move faster and co-ordinate under stress.
We use a lot of equipment at these sessions including

Kettlebells
Powerbags
Aquabags
Sloshballs
Weightvests
Chains
Powerbands
Medicine balls
Plyo boxes
Thai pads
Arnis sticks
To name a few…

The idea is an outdoor circuit/strength training class depending on the day and the response required.
All muscle groups are used as this is a conditioning class, as the body never uses a muscle group in isolation these exercises force the body to work as a complete unit. The body uses large numbers of muscles to perform most tasks. It is rare that just a bicep will be used alone. Although the amount of time spent on biceps in gyms you would think that biceps are the most important muscle group in the body. But they aren’t!

So our group outdoor sessions target whole body actions to strengthen all the joints of the body for harder training.
It uses all directions and all movements forward, backward, laterally, pushing, pulling, pressing, throwing, balancing and co-ordinating. This will strengthen every muscle and joint.

These training methods have been used on trainees from 14-75 and at varying fitness levels.
All participants have had significant strength flexibility and co-ordination improvements.

After the body is significantly fatigued; we then teach defensive tactics including Krav Maga and Arnis.
Also to co-ordinate when the body when the body is not in its normal state (referred to as homeostasis). When dealing with confrontations the bodies sympathetic nervous system takes over. This has a number of effects on performance some useful, some are to be trained to lessen the detrimental responses.

The combination of training techniques at Adapt and Survive has helped people in actual serious confrontations.
See what it does for you.
