What is Locomotion under tension?

A step in general physical preparedness.

Movement with resistance, exercise is performing tasks under tension in one locatation.

What can be described as Locomotion under Tension?

Prowler work, Harness work, so pushing pulling dragging.

These exercises are locomotive in nature as they use a more natural movement pattern.

Because of this they are less contraindicated for beginners, not requiring high levels of co-ordination or strength.

The benefits are many, including,for the heart; increased stroke volume. Stroke volume and its adaptations impact very quickly increase work capacity of the participants,. Muscles are all strengthened and tendons and ligaments are prepared for harder tasks.

The reasons why this sort of training is so beneficial,i think, is we are evolutionary prepared for these tasks.
